SACRE
RE is not a part of the National Curriculum in England. Instead its content and management are determined locally. Standing Advisory Councils for Religious Education (SACREs) are the local committees that advise local authorities responsible for education on matters connected with RE and collective worship and support schools with the delivery of RE.
Alan Montgomery and Clare Walsha are members of Brackell Forest SACRE and Wokingham SACRE respectively. Pan-Berkshire SACRE have started the 5-yearly syllabus review to which Alan and Clare will be contributing to ensure than Humanism is fairly and accurately represented in the future syllabus.
More information about the role of SACRE is available on Humanists UK site.
